Crossfire Issue

I'm running two Visiontek R9 290X's, when I have the 2nd card plugged in I can enable crossfire but inside both CC and Afterburner everything shows up as zero. There is no usage, temp or fan speed just all zeros. I also have no manual control over the 2nd card. However I do get the fps boost in games so crossfire is definitely working. Any idea what might be happening ?

Its working properly.
2 cards are not needed to draw a 2D desktop.

I have this issue as well.

Unfortunately, I wonder if this isn't intended behavior. I notice I have no control over the 2nd card until I start an application that uses both cards -- after which it shows up on the OSD and I can change its settings in Afterburner.

I found a fix, in after burner go to setting and check "Disable ULPS" restart and bam I can control and see the card in overlay and everything !

There is nothing wrong. It's working correctly, its a power saving feature. It will also cut down on your temps while at desktop.
