I've seen a couple places that apparently SLI and Crossfire are effectively the same hardware, and that given hacked drivers you can enable them (sometimes) interchangeably on MBs that don't support your favorite brand of card. I went hunting but have not turned up these elusive hacked drivers that allow me to enable crossfire over an SLI connection. Anyone actually have a link to them? Neither Omega or DNA seem to be able to do it.

I have 2 ATI cards I wanted to hook up in crossfire on an SLI MB... any suggestions?
 
Yes, I suggest you get an intel chipset board. The only good reason to use an SLI motherboard is for SLI. I don't think you'll have much luck getting CF to work on an SLI board, btw.
 
Hmmm... I know there were hacked drivers but that was nforce 4 - awhile ago. To the best of my knowledge those days are over. Not 100% though, hopefully someone here proves me wrong.
 
Well, the HP blackbird had support for both Xfire and SLi, and i think it was a 680i chipset.

Although i don't know why you'd want Crossfire on an SLi board, as the P35/X38 boards clock better, run cooler, are cheaper, and have better features (in general).
