Crossfire + Eyefinity questions

Hello everyone!

I'm doing a new build (in sig) and have all pieces in place, except video cards (which arrive today). Truth be told I have done a gpu upgrade since 8800GT and haven't ever experimented with Crossfire or SLI, nor eyefinity/surround.

This time around, I decided to pull the trigger on it both, Crossfire and eyefinity and I have some questions about it.

1) From what i've seen so far you'll use one of the two cards to hook up all your monitors correct?

2) In which combination do plug in the monitors?
Video Cards: (each)
1 - DVI
1 - HDMI
2 - miniDisplayport

Monitors: (each)
1 - DVI
1 - Displayport
1 - VGA

Thanks for any help! I'm trying to get a little more familiar before my trip to MC for any/some active adapters, etc. when my cards arrive today!

Depending on what cables you have, you can use any combination of DVI and DP, as long as at least one of the monitors is DP. Since you have monitors with DP it should be pretty easy for you.

Try this page:

http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/amd-eyefinity-technology/how-to/Pages/set-up.aspx

Basically if you want to use eyefinity you need one mini DP which will need an active mini-DP to DVI if your monitor doesn't have a DP plug.

This is how I have my setup:

1 HDMI
2 active mini-DP to DVI

Also all your monitors have to use the same resolution for eyefinity. Do all 3 of your monitors have each of those ports? I would use 1 DVI and 2 DP then for them. You should be able to do mini-DP to DP with no problem.
