I have wanted to build a new computer for a while, but am looking at buying a house as well... so I might have to wait a while and as such this part selection may slowly change. But I thought I would make a post to see what you guys thought in case you have any criticism or suggestions. I have saved a newegg wish list. If it doesnt work let me know. ;)

linkage

On a side note, I noticed that newegg does not ship to Canada. Anyone have suggestions on a similar store that will? [or is in Canada]

A friend of mine suggested canadacomputers.com but they hardly have any of the stuff I'm looking for. :(

Well I ordered my HDD and Enclosure from www.tigerdirect.ca and UPS tried to deliver yesterday but I wasn't here but it's supposed to be here today. I ordered Saturday Night and took basic shipping (way cheaper than any other option...).

Check them out. Other than that i'm not sure.

i think the second dvd-rom is unnnecessary, i'd rather get a cd burner incase you cannibalize this computer in the future, you can use each drive for something productive seperately.
I like the rest of the choices, not that i am knowlledgablle or anything, but have you considered getting a socket 939 board? they are phasing out the 754's and the 939's can support dual cahneel, some anyways. Not sure on price differences, but in retrospect, dual channel would be nice. i got the 2800+ 64 bit far cry combo with a 754 board. I am happy, but you can always upgrade. Also, what OS are you gonna run? i got a beta of xp64 for free direct from microsoft. You might consider it. its super easy to find on their website.
Finally, i'd look into another Power Supply. That one only carries 13A on teh 12 volt rails, annd with your set-up and video card, the PS is importnat. true i have a crappy 15A but i dsont have very power consuming parts. Just geforce 2 mx, and cd burner and normal other stuff.

good luck on teh system man, more money than i had to dump foor mine, but i dont know of any wasted parts is see

ok... the second dvd drive is a good point, main reason I had it in there is if I ever needed to make a copy of a dvd or cd it would be faster. I guess I could do with out it... a cd burner seems silly though as the dvdr can do that fine. ;)

939 boards are pretty expensive right now, but it will likely be a while before I buy, so that is definately a possibility if they come down in price :)

as for operating systems I was thinking about doing a simple dual boot between linux64 and windows xp... should be fun to mess with linux again and the windows goes without saying for the gaming aspect

yeah, the PSU is a little crappy... I figured that after I get the case I can mod it a bit and see how it works out... then I will likely replace the PSU with something better as well as most if not all of the case fans [it comes with 5, but I'd like to put a few more in and get some higher quality fans with a controller of some kind eventually]
