Built plenty of machines before, I'm just really looking for someone to say 'I used that RAM in that board and it didn't work well' or 'this board is a better deal' or whatever.. I think I have it pretty well figured out already.

This is for an Eyefinity build if you didn't guess ;)

GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard - A little worried about this board, I like the specs but I've heard a lot of bad things about it. Thoughts?

CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C9

Antec P183 - I have a P182 now, really like it, but really open to suggestions here. I hate side panel windows, LEDs, glowing fans, all that junk. I do want to be open to doing Crossfire/SLI later.

Powercolor 2GB 5870 - Should I just get the 1GB? I figured 2GB will futureproof me a bit, especially since I plan to crossfire at some point, plus it means I can hook up all 3 monitors with DIsplayPort.

XFX 750W PSU - Should be enough for Crossfire, right?

Core i7-930

NEC EA231WMI-BK - Contemplating 3 of these for my monitors

Any input appreciated!

Current build is an E6600@3.2ghz, 8800GTX, 4GB DDR2, 24" 1920x1200 monitor - hoping this will be a noticable upgrade ;)

750watt would do it but it will be cutting it close. Get a 850watt model. Everything looks good.

If you're not overclocking whatsoever, that 750W PSU will be adequate for HD 5870 Crossfire. If you are planning on overclocking, even a small overclock, up the PSU to a quality 850W PSU like the Corsair 850TX.

I'd say 1GB should be fine.

+1 750 is gonna be maxing out with crossfire especially with overclock.

I'd go with this G.Skill DDR3-1600 kit instead, its same price without rebate and has the same timings but runs at 1.5v instead of 1.65

I agree with this recommendation. I just hate rebates because more and more companies are now no longer mailing out checks but instead send it to you in the form of a prepaid debit card. And it's all too easy to accumulate overdraft charges when such a card is used.

Thanks for the input, I switched to the GSkill RAM and upped to the 850W XFX.

I figure the XFX PSU is a decent choice, it's made by Seasonic and it's modular, the modular Corsair is more expensive. Looks like it got a good review here on [H] too.
