Critique build before order

Its been a couple 5+ years since i messed around with watercooling and would like to cool new system i put together this week. I will be overclocking but nothing too extreme. Doing this more because of the high noise that i am currently getting.

I will be doing a single loop and will be cooling a i7 930 and 2x 5870 in a 800d case:

Loop:

Pump>Rad>Cpu>Rad>Gpu's>Res

This is what i have picked out so far and where some input would be welcomed. One rad will be mounted at the top of case the other on the rear of case.

Slipstreams are really bad radiator fans. They have really low static pressure. I would look at another fan that has higher static pressure, like a Gentle Typhoon or Yate Loon.

Hey Jay,I would go with the EK blocks for those 5870s, also you can get the mod kit for that MCP655 to nice it up a bit, since you're using the 800D..

Point of warning, I don't know if those aluminum fill ports will expose their parts to your coolant, but be careful of forming galvanic couples in your loop!!

Slipstreams are not good, get GT@1850 and either keep stock (still really quiet) or undervolt to 1400 rpm for complete silence.

Jesus christ, $800 for a WC setup...I just peed myself a little. Gonna be fun putting that together! Is this your first WC build? Got me all nostalgic for my first build....waaaay to many moons ago haha.

This the same RAD? You'd save about $160 on just that if it is.

Get rid of that aluminum danger den fill port. either go with danger den delrin fillport or the bitspower one. Danger den will take a 1" hole saw and bits will take a 5/8 hole saw to drill hole in case. The reason I know is I am currently doing a dual loop build in an 800D.

I ordered the danger den delrin port to replace the one I installed.

if your overclocking your 930 I would go with a dual loop set up as opposed to a single loop.

I chose to run 1/2ID 3/4OD tygon tubing. I still feel tygon tubing is superior to primochill but that is my opinion. I will be using tygon R3400 tygon tubing with distilled water and petras tech pt nuke toavoid any complications from dyes..

I ordered my EVGA 760, EK-FB for motherboard, i7-930, EK-Supreme HF, and fillport.

Next to order is 2 Evga 470 cards, bitspower connections, EK full card gpu blocks, scythe fans, 2 scythe kaze master ace fan controllers, and corsair dominator DDR3 2000 memory.

I'm using three of these fans (medium speed version), since they were dirt cheap at Sidewinder ($6 or so a pop).

Running at 75% speed on a MCR 320 rad, cooling two GTX 470s, I'm getting ~33C idle temps.

So they can't be too bad.

Try for some yate loon 120s instead. they aren't as expensive as scythe GTs but they should offer better performance than the slipstreams.

Overall it looks like a very solid build, however adding aluminum to the loop can cause corrosion so you should either add anti-corrosive formula to your coolant or better yet find a non-aluminum part instead.

Just placed the order. I did make a few changes. I went with the ek gpu blocks and gentle typhoon fans. Got rid of the fill port and changed the reservoir to the xspc dual bay one that houses the swiftech pump. Hopefully everything arrives by the weekend. I will post some pics when everything is done.
