I just purchased a Creative MP3 player. Link.

When I plug up the MP3 player to my machine, I am prompted to install software on XP Pro. Is there no way to just recognizing this 40GB player as a simple external hard drive? I don't want to install software because many of my machines are Linux based and the software will not work.

If I must install their software, can you guys please recommend a simular MP3 player that will work out the box via USB w/o any software at all.
