I've looked around and can't find a fix for my problem. Everything was working fine on my system and then one day something messed up and I had to reformat. No big deal, but when i reinstalled the drivers for my x-fi card, i started getting static and popping. Well I looked on creatives forums and they say its a problem with nforce4 chipsets, but other people with other chipsets have the problem too, and I never had this problem before. I got the latest patch which is supposed to work with 4 gigs of ram, but for some reason mine doesnt. I can go down to 3 and it works fine, but with 4, it just messes up.

System specs:
Vista 64
AMD Opteron 185
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
4gbs Corsair XMS 3200
X-fi Fatal1ty
Nvidia Geforce 7900 GTX

Are you using the drivers that came out last week? i think version 004.

If you are, then your issue is the same most of us have... you have a creative card, you should ditch it and go with on-board audio. X-fi's don't work with Vista and Creative doesn't care.

Wow. Posts like this should get you banned.

GTFO.

Yeah i wasn't looking for creative hate posts. I had the card working with 4 gigs of ram, It worked flawlessly, something else messed up on the computer, and now im trying to get the 4 gigs working again.

Comedian, the newest Creative drivers supposedly fix the 4GB of RAM problem. I am using them now, and I have 4GB of RAM and Vista, but I never ran into the problem so I can't attest to them actually fixing it.

Its the strangest thing, I dunno why all of a sudden after a reformat im having the problem. Everything works peachy with 3gbs of memory, but it starts cracking at 4. I have the latest drivers, bios, everything... bleh.... i have monsters in my computer!!

I don't know if this is related but my Fatal1ty started making some weird hissing and popping noises out of the blue also. Sometimes it would work fine and others, it would make the weird noises. What I found was that if I switched the modes, when it was making the weird noises, the problem would go away. I have no idea why that works in my situation.

Ill try that, and I dont remember where I saw it, but someone had a fix for the same board im using too, im gonna try that also.
