I'm sick and tired of the Ventrilo memory leak. It's very annoying to have to end the audodg.exe process and restart it.

When the hell is creative going to fix this? Last driver update was 26 Jun 09

I don't want to disable all the effects and then the soundcard is pointless.

I was shocked that they released an alchemy update that works on windows 7,

I did try modded PAX drivers but they were no help.

Creative sucks at the drivers. It has pretty much always been this way. Unfortunately, MOST audio companies seem to suck at the drivers. Not sure why this is the case, but it is. That is actually one of the few things I like about integrated audio is the IDT chips that Intel uses have some of the best drivers out there, one of the few WHQL certified. Audio companies like to say they don't get them certified because they don't need to, but the truth is more along the lines of that they can't because their stuff is broken.

At any rate, nothing new out of Creative for a long while and who knows when there will be? They are releasing a new sound card like next month so one would presume new drivers, but they could be only for that card.

One thing you can try are these drivers. These are UAA, Vista/7 native drivers that the Auzentech stuff uses modified to work on Creative's stuff. For me, they worked better. Funny thing is, Creative wrote the drivers, they just don't use them for their own stuff. No idea why.

You can also try the Daniel_K support packs. I had all kinds of problems with my X-Fi Titanium using the regular drivers and every single problem went away when I installed the Daniel_K support pack drivers.
