Creative Settings Won't Save

Every time I restart Win2k the Creative Sound Mixer defaults to 2.1 speakers and I have to change it to headphones every time. How do I reset default to "Headphones?"
 
My ZS does the same kinds of things, like default to 2 speakers after playing Doom3 or certains other games. (Although I get Doom3 to play in surround mode after resetting settings in the audio control panel and then in the game).

Basically the Audigy drivers suck, they let games whack their settings.
 
It does this without playing any games. I synced with control panel, which is set properly to "headphones" which should also cause the Creative software to pick them up.

I am about to delete and reinstall the driver.
 
My X-FI has the same type of problem. The drivers never remeber where I left the sliders at in the software. Looks like an ongoing problem with your ZS up to my X-FI.

That may actually be the problem.
 
Yes I grabbed the drivers right off the Creative site. People have a problem with these?
 
I have always had this problem with them. Every now and then I'll notice my games or my music only coming out of 2 speakers (I have a 5.1 setup), I have to go to either the Control Panel or Creative's Software thingy and set it back to 5.1.
