Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio

Anyone have any impressions on this one? I'm just putting together a new build now and haven't had a chance to try the onboard sound of my gigabyte p35-ds3l yet, but i can't imagine it's great. How does this card stack up against an Xtremegamer, for instance?

Yeah it sucks. Big time. The entry level X-Fi is the Gamer not the music.

oh, really? so what makes this card different from an xtremegamer?

It doesnt have the EMU10k1 chip and in vista it would do it all in software. You would have to install the host openal driver to use Alchemy which would still do it in software.

so basicy it just a Sblive 24bit with XFI slapped in front. You better off with the XTreme gamer/Music.

BTW Space the gamer and the music is the same card. just without the port for the box. The Xtreme audio is the one your thinking off.

The Xtreme music used to be the entry point of the XFI til they replaced it with the Gamer.
