Creative S750 dead! Now What ??? help!

Hello all

Im ussually an avid reader of this forums and i have now a big issue that i found out in google that is very common with the S750 speakers from creative.
I have the flickering light in the back of the subwoofer and nothing works. Since i dont wanna give Creative another 400 euros and since i have my speakers in the living room with the cables glued too the wall what are my options here????

The satellites are great and the sound they make is amazing. I have read that i can buy an AV receiver and a Sub and make them work. Can you guys point me in the direction of a good but cheap AV receiver\subwoofer that allow me too connect my speakers too the PC again.

Also if im in the market for a new NON-CREATIVE speakers for my pc what should i buy ? Logitech ??? wich ones ??

As MisterSparkle said, cover up any traces you were there and get someone to drive for a quicker getaway.

I was only trying to help but without knowing your budget, how can we possibly know.

That should point out that my budget should be low, i cant afford a 1000$ av receiver + subwoofer. So i would like to spend way below $1000 both things.
 
Cheap is relative and is why I asked you for your budget.
The Onkyo TX-SR606 (last years model) is a very good receiver for the money, well reviewed.
I have its bigger brother, the 875 and am stunned how good it is.
 
But then i will need a subwoofer also can u recommend one also ?

Also i need too connect my 7.1 speakers from the S750 here:

How can i do that the speaker connections i see are + and - for other speakers.

Others can help better on that, my last sub cost over $1000 and I havent looked at the lower end for some time.
I'm also in the UK, sub and speaker models availability varies widely around the globe.

You will likely get other posters recommending other amps.
There are some very good alternatives to the Onkyo.


The speakers you have now are a class below these amps, will be underpowered and lower sound quality.
Unexpected peaks in the sound from media like Blu Ray movies can blow the speakers.
I recommend changing the speakers as soon as you can afford.

For example, I have 250W front speakers, 140W/ch into 5.1 from the amp.
Playing back the start of the Blu Ray film 'Serenity' comes close to harming my front speakers.
The front mid range cone almost hits the end stops.

Your speakers let you plug in wires, change the wire.
 
Exactly you are right i can remove the plug and connect the wires...

I see what u mean about the speakers... Can u direct me too an UK store that sells speakers and what speaker would u recommend too use with this amp knowing that primarly those speakers would be used for gaming.
 
Speakers are a very large topic and there are TONS of stores.
Dont buy from abroad unless you dont mind paying the shipping back if something needs repair.
As mentioned in my last post, availability varies widely around the world, and thus the number of brands is massive, the good speakers are less common.
Either go with what someone can recommend nearer you or research very deeply and choose yourself.

Join/Read some AV forums if you get stuck.

It depends what you are after.
Please list your needs/uses and the environment you will place the hifi in.
Do you want an improvement or are you not bothered about that?
 
I have a medium size living room and i will use the system mainly for Gaming and watching movies\series music is the least of it, gaming is the major use

I probably will try too improve the speakers and im willing too buy everything on a small\medium size budget (1000 euros)
 
1000 Euro is much different from $1000 so I am not sure which is the limit you want. If it is 1000 Euro, then I would think there is much to choose from. Unfortunately I am not sure what is available in the UK. I think Axiom ships anywhere in the world for free and their 5.1 set starts at around $1200 (or about 900 Euro). Aperion may also ship for free but I am not sure about this.

I think Monitor Audio is one of the good brands of speakers for the UK. Meridian is also good but way expensive. Also a good set of Paradigms may be possible for 1k Euro, not sure. I would shop around and see what is available in your area in terms of store bought systems and also check all internet direct companies (Ascend, Axiom, SVS, HSU, Emotiva, Outlaw, Aperion, etc) to check shipping costs and availability in the UK. I think SVS sells in the UK.

Im not in the UK im in portugal... if u can give me websites that sell abroad at free shipping would be awesome.
