Creative GigaWorks 7.1 surround sound?

For $420, you can have the start of a very beautiful audio system.

In essence? Start with 2.1, and move from there... The Fosgate deal that I posted is a pretty good start. Get a decent bargain subwoofer, a used surround receiver and you have a nice starter system. Add a couple of back channel speakers when you have the cash. Forget the center channel. For one listener computer use, it's pretty negligible.
 
i still want a set so bad but lack the cash. they are unbelievable. you will not find a single bad review about them.
 
But imho the subs 'farts' way too much when watching loud action movie dvd. And i only set the subs level on the gigaworks panel at around 20%. Thats the only downside that i can think of.
 
those suck just because there's no rotary volume control. I fucking hate pushbutton volume. get with it creative, next time you try to make high end speakers put controls people can actually easily use

I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for u to make ur own mod that lets u use a rotary volume as opposed to pushbutton
 
The 6.1s are inspire, = shit.

It depends what you want the gigaworks for, if youre a gamer go for it, the bass is occasionally a bit heavy in films, and a lot too much for music ( i have it set down to about 25% on the volume controler) But for games they are unbeatable, i find it a lot easier to position things with the 7.1 than with 5, but that might just be me.

If youre really into it for your music though a decent amp and a pair of bookshelf speakers wil do you lots better.
 
cool well I've got other systems for music so if this works well for gaming then I'm gettin' it..
