Creative -Fatality Front Panel Problem

Quick question,

Anybody know how to fix this problem

Plug my microphone into the back of case with soundcard works fine, plug the microphone into the front sound panel and no microphone ,yet i can hear people talking , but they cannot hear me any ideas on how to fix this or waht i can do to get the front panel to work?

This is probably a stupid question but other stuff on the front panel works right? Like headphones? Double check the IDE ribbon cable that attaches the x-fi to the front panel?

The setting for that particular microphone port I believe is Mic 2/Line 2. Make sure the volume is all the way up on that setting, and mute it. Muting it just makes it so you don't get echo, it only mutes it for your speakers/headphones. I'm sure you've done this but make sure the knob on the panel for the mic is all the way up.
