i took an audgy 2 out of an old compaq that was working with these standard speakers with only one jack, i put it in the new computer and installed the driver off of the website because i dont have the disk. i can put the plug in digital out and hear faint sound behind a lot of static, but it wont do anything in any other ports. also there is no eax console. i tried putting it in a different pci slot and i tried uninstalling and reinstalling. what to do?
 
Get your hands on the driver CD. The one's from the website are an upgrade, not the full drivers.

Oh, and don't use the digital out, use the analog out. Most speakers aren't built for digital, and for those that are, usually (unless you have really, really nice speakers) the analog is going to sound better anyway.
