Creating new system....default air-cool first?

I'm nearing the end of pulling together all my components for my new water-cooled system, and have a question on just a simple matter of practice...

Naturally, I will assemble and test for 24+ hrs the water cooling setup external from my case...but what I was wondering is: does it make sense to set-up the system running the stock default air-cooling stuff that's coming with the various pieces (namely the graphics card and cpu), or just go ahead and put the water cooling system in place as I am putting the components together as well?

I'm just wondering if I have any problems with, say, the graphics card, well, if I've already gone through the trouble of taking off the fan, and mounting the GPU block....?

I'm sure you could just do either, but just curious from experience what people have found generally to be most useful in practice? Put system together, test, then add watercooling?...or just do it all at once?

Well I suppose it all depends on how much trust you have in the almighty ;) Some people run their system for a while to see if they have any problems before watercooling it. Others like me do it from the git go.

I'm a dumba$$.So I just put the mofo in there and hope that I did it right.Whenever Im in doubt I put papertowels all over the tubing.Normally my gut feeling is right.I say do it externally. It wont take long to hook it up once its done leak testing. The first time i leak tested I only did it for enough time to watch south park then I stuck it in.

I've done it both ways. My first time, I ran air and slowly moved to WC'ing both CPUs, then the GPU, then the NB. When I upgraded my motherboard, I threw it all on and was sort of pissed off I didn't have any air-cooling stuff around because I ended up having to pull both CPUs half a dozen times to do u-wire mods, test, troubleshoot, etc.
As TN says, it's all about faith.

As for the 24hr. testing...that's all in place, in the computer, w/ everything else turned off, right?...gonna be a bit tricky to get out the air bubbles with everything assembled in the case, but, I'm sure manageable.

I always build the system using stock cooling on a lab bench, just to see if the hardware works right.... I usually take a few screenies of the temps for historical documentation... then later on when it's all chillin in the H20 rig, I can look back @ how insane the temps were.
