creating dead pixels

Alright, Im interested in buying an LCD in the months to come but the dead pixel thing scares me. A friend of mine bought an LCD a while back and it came with only one dead pixel, but it was bright green and right smack dab in the middle of the screen, everytime i use his LCD it annoys the hell outa me.

If i were to buy an LCD online and they had a policy that it would have to have say 5 or 8 dead pixels or more inorder for me to return it and lets say the one i get has 3 or 4 I am screwed right?

Is there anyway i could say break a pixel or two to make a few dead pixels to push that number of dead pixels above the limit so i could get it returned?

I know that this is completely wrong but hey, i'm curious.
 
only way i know of doing it without it being obvious that you did it yourself would require opening the casing, which would most likely void your warranty anyways... :rolleyes:

i'm guessing actually illegal, something along the lines of fraud, but don't let me stop you, only the discussing illegal stuff at [H]
 
Tossing a stapler at the screen will do the trick...but yeah, what you're asking to do is dishonest and ends up costing other consumers.
 
Buy from Monitors Direct. If you are unhappy for any reason they will gladly take it back, refund your money, exchange, whatever. Dell also has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee, their service is worse, but still a good place to buy if you are concerned.
 
breaking a product so it can be RMAd is fraud
and is thus illegal and isnt allowed per the forum rules
