Creating a world

Whats a good software for creating 3D worlds?
Maya or World Builder 4?
I would like to be able to move a camera into this model so this should not render a 2D image

Do you want an application that generates a world based on your input, or do you want to do it manually (so to speak)? Really, what are you looking to do?

Also, keep in mind that 3D is pretty much the most difficult thing you can do with a computer (other than divide by zero, I suppose).

a little bit of both
not a world really but like a small detailed area so i can create a virtual camera and fly through
really small area but detailed

Terragen can do that. Well the fly through and create landscapes easily, just takes a while to get a hang of it.

Another vote for Terragen, simply astonishing stuff you can create with that software. Highly recommended, and it has a great community behind it.
