So I have 8 2TB disks connected to my Perc 5i and they are all seen, it says that total capacity is 14.5TB and then 12.7TB optimal. When I go to create a logical drive in Server 2012 its saying capacity 12.7TB but free space is 10.9TB and the biggest drive I can create is 10.9TB WTF? Is this because its still initializing or is something effed somewhere?

Did you do Raid 6 or Raid-5 with a hot spare?
14.5TB = raw space (~1.8 * 8)
12.7TB = Raid-5 (~1.8 * 7)
10.9TB = Raid-6/5 with hot spare (~1.8 * 6)

Here are some images to illustrate what I am talking about:

Today I was looking around the 2012 server and found this, what the heck is taking up almost 2TB of space? This was just built yesterday!!

So I just deleted the drive in storage manager in server 2012 and recreated it at 12.7GB, don't know why something was taking up space in the first place, weird.
