Using an off-the-shelf fan controller, servo motor and Arduino board, plus some water-cut styrene parts he farmed out to an online shop, user SXRguyinMA outfitted his NZXT Tempest Evo case with a rad robotic cooling system. When the Arduino detects the temperature changing, it automatically actuates the servo to raise or lower the louvers accordingly, and the rig features a pair of supercapacitors that can store enough power to close the vents even if power is lost. There's also the all-important little red button to instantly make jaws drop.

Well, anything that allows heat to naturally escape through the top should help cooling... but this is more of a "Cool Factor" mod than a practical mod, though it has elements of both.

Get's my stamp of approval (which is worth pretty much nothing).

Nicely done. Really like the update where the louvers close at a slower pace.

I don't care if Alienware has done it - it's a nice mod... I'd like to see that type of mod expanded to make a Transformer-esque case =)

That is friggen [H]ard! I wish I had the time or skill to do something like that.
