HI.
Just finished putting together my home theater pc which has some new and old parts. Im using my old athlon xp 3500 cpu on a new motherboard. Everything works fine as im using it right now. Just now im hearing my computer to be VERY LOUD. I open the case to find out my cpu fan is blazing full speed. I check in bios and my cpu temp is only 35 c.
My fan is spinning at 4326 RMP.
Now is this becuase its spinning this fast to keep temp at that 35?
Only thing i think i did wrong that scared me a bit is since cpu is a pull out i used the original cpu fan which was never used!. I took off the padding that was on bottom of heatsink and just use thermal past. Was i suppose to use both pad and paste? I thought paste was better and only had to use one. Is this my fault?
This is not my first time installing a cpu but my 4th. I know i put ther thermal and everything on right just that this was the only time i took off that padding and didnt know if i was supposed to use both.
