Crazy CPU Temp

I used 2 programs to monitor my cpu temp and these are the results i have got.


They cant be right...............can they?

The temperature sensor on your motherboard is most likely broken and sending out false information.

Yes.
Pull the heatsink and re-apply paste and reseat hs/'f.

Most likely bad reading, but the shutdowns could be caused by the bios thinking the cpu is really that hot, and shutting down to safe guard the cpu. If the temps were really that high, youd have a fried processor.

Best thing is the re-apply thermal paste, then relap it on and see if they impove. that's the best you can do.

Also, turn off the auto-shutdown in the bios.

Which board is this BTW?

try using the everest monitoring program

i have never had any problems with that

v accurate

also, what is the temp when u look on your bios

Everest home is telling me that my cpu temp is 42 celcius.

theres no way it could be that hot..should look like this at a full load or cooler...

Turn your Fan up. That temps probly not right but turn it up, just to see what you get.

Uh there is absolutley no way its right. It most likely would have crashed before 70C. 120C = extra crispy CPU
