today i bought a amd athlon 64 3200+ and i started it up. I bought this boxed, so, it includes the crappy stock heatsync. I fire it up, and go to do a burn in, didnt even get to it, i restart after i get my new mobo drivers in and boom, i get into bois to check settings and its running at 50 degrees celcius. I am used to my 1600 at 40 degrees at load. I didnt even o/c yet and i was going to, damn is that hot.

I'm certainly no expert but make sure that the heatsink is aligned right, and that if you applied any thermal grease that's done correctly...

I've got an athlon 64 3200+ 754 and I get to 2500mhz before I hit 50C idling ...

yep, i did, now i go into sisandra and it says a diffrent temp, whats going on here

edit: i found out my mobo (dfi lanparty nf3 250gb) reads temps 10 degrees higher

That heatsink is surprisingly good for a stock retail cooling solution. The thermal pad is Shin Etsu too.
