Well, I just put together a computer for a friend with pretty decent specs. A winchester 3200, a gig of cheap mushkin ram, 200GB sata hdd, 480w antec psu, and a pny 6800nu. I decided to run a few benchmarks to make sure it was all working good, it worked fine so I tried my luck with unlocking and overclocking the video card. It unlocked with no artifacts, but overclocking is where it got interesting. The core wouldn't make it over 400, but the ram was stable at 950mhz, and was benchable at 1000mhz!! And I thought my stable overclock of 400/900 on my old 6800nu was good. So, my question is, have any of you seen a 6800nu overclock like this one?

if it was 2.0ns ram, which is rated for 1000mhz...i dont see not. nice oc.

That's an amazing ram overclock for the vanilla 6800. Pity your core won't go over 400 though.

Yeah its a dam good overclock......is this card unlocked with Riva Tuner? I was able to unlock the 6th shader, but not the 4 extra pipes. So its at 12x6 right now.

I have a PNY 6800NU and its fine at 377/850. I had it higher on my other machine, but when i went to a Nforce3 chipset from a Via K8T800 Pro, i lost alittle.

Haha.. My MX440SE was able to be OCed to Core Clock: 419 and Memory clock:379

about 100 mhz or so for each...

a good 7 FPS boost in CS 1.6...

I need a new computer...

Anywasy, Great OC! :D
