I have been going nuts. I'm at wits end over this! The boars is a second hand Asus p7h55 pro, the card is an Mai gtx 450.

What happens is I can boot just fine windows actually gets to the log in screen just fine everytime. However when I go to enter any account it dies. I have tried to disable arrow, the pcie. Power sleep fix tryied to set the motherboard to not overclock or even attempt it. Spread spectrum on the gpU and cpu. Possible a few others.

I've read this is an issue when the system has an old capture card in it which I do. Sometimes on some boots its fine and I can run for weeks at a time IF there is no power outs or I accidentally update or reset.

The ram tests fine and the motherboard is either the latest or almost latest firmware.

Psu is a turn power 550.

Ideas?

I was having crashes in winxp and win7 not detecting my gs8400 before I isolated it to a bad card. It was intermittent at first but as the card died, i was not able to get into windows. hope this helps.
