Crap Deleted Everything, now in trouble!

Alright so.... there had been a bit of miscommunication in the family. We had this computer that hasn't been touched in quite some time. So I went ahead and deleted alot of the stuff in which I can't remember what, some of them were documents. Now my dad is "wtf happened?". As far as I know, everything is deleted so that I myself don't know how to retrieve it if possible at all.

I went on a delete and add/remove program spree, then disk clean up, then defrag. Well now my dad really misses his documents, so I gotta try and see if it's possible to retrieve the documents. You guys have any input?! :confused:
 
Thanks for tip, where can I find it? I googled it, found sereral odd results.
 
I don't think I can use just a demo, it's quite a lot of stuff... :( And I need to be able to recover it back onto the same C Drive rather then elsewhere.

This is why backups are important...most of that is probably gone for good, recovery software or no.
 
dont be too sure. Ontrack Easy Recovery Pro 6.0.exe has saved my ass numerous times. i once lost a 120gig to bad partition, which i then reformatted, then put more files on the defragged it, then found this gem, Ontrack Easy Recovery Pro 6.0.exe, and i was able to recover over 40gigs of data in image format that i had lost. so i wouldnt say its completly lost, but this program does take quit a long time...6 hours of scanning on a 120gig hdd, then another 4 or more hours recovering it..lefty it on overnitye and i got it all back.
 
Where can I get this Ontrack Easy Recovery Pro 6.0? Does it cost money? I am going to put my computer on my network at home. I will make a folder, after I get it recovered, could I then edit the documents once again? Thanks for your help.

Anything you manage to recover, will just be a file like any other file same as it was before and you can do all sorts of file things to it.

Seriously though, invest in a CD burner. They're cheap as hell and especially with small things like documents, even one RW will have you set for a while.

O God, it won't let me copy the files over. SOmething like I don't have the paid version :( . Is there a way to work with this dilemma?!
 
Alright so I undeleted the documents. THe problem is the characters are all messed up, i see nothing but boxes and lines and etc on Word Documents. Hwo do I fix this....
 
NM it's not solved, turns out the only thing I thought I recovered was stuff that waas already leftover on the computer that I didn't see. What am I doing wrong here, I can't seem to find the deleted files.
 
Nope couldn't get it at all. I believe it's because I defraged after, horrible luck....
 
i forget the option in that program, but its like a thorough scan or something. like im saying man i had a 120gig hdd that was corrupted cuz of a partition error, and i had to wipe the partition table, reformat, then i installed windows back onto the drive. and updates n junk then a defrag, and i was still able to recover 40gigs of data. now of course it may have been on the ass end of the drive where it wasnt overwrote or defragged to or whatever but that sucks still. keep trying is all i can say. theres several options in that program that should get u going.

OMG! That's probably the end of all those files then. The best possibly time to even try and recover anything off a drive is immediatly after the loss occurs, before anything else is written to the drive.

Just think though, you'll probably never do that again w/o checking first! :D

Thanks alot P3N1X[H], I appreciate the time you took out to hep me. A lesson learned very well. I will never clean out my trash bin again, since it doesn't hurt anything leaving stuff in there.
