Hey guys,

I am looking for a ips monitor and i found one on craigs.
What should I know? What should I ask? How does warranty work? Lastly, Would this be a good option with my ps3/xbox. How do I get sound out of it?

Thanks in advance guys. I am excited but am in no rush to buy this monitor. He is selling for $275! That is why I am excited.
 
I own this monitor and its great, but from the responses of people that tried it with consoles it may not be that best fit for that application as it has scaling issues with those devices.

This monitor comes with a 3/3/3 year warranty which is parts/labour/onsite service. I'm not sure if the warranty is transferable so you may want to ask the seller or contact HP themselves.

For $275.... I might have to kill some competition to get one for that price (assuming no dead pixels).
 
Scaling for a 1080p input from my ps3 wasn't so good for the ZR24w when I tried it. It will stretch the output vertically no matter what I tried. Same happened for my 2408fpw though, so I learned to live with it for a while.

The scalar on the ZR24w sucks. And by 'sucks' I mean I don't think it has one. Not a good monitor to hook up a console to. I have a ZR24w and love it, but I don't own a console gaming system, so it's one major drawback (or one of two - the contrast is a bit low) doesn't matter to me.
 
=/ No one responded in time so I was hesitant to make a drastic move to buy one. I guess there is always a next time.
 
Depending on what city you live in, great deals on craigslist go fast. It's possible by the time you were done asking - the monitor was already spoken for.

Pretty much all the questions you asked can easily have been answered if you just did 15 minutes of research on your own instead of waiting for an answer.

But hey - it's like you said - there's always next time.
