Crackling/Popping problems

I have a SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum and I recently formatted and got everything reinstalled and all the driver and software updates for the sound card. I am getting crackling/popping sounds during heavier load times and/or multiple instances of sounds. What the heck is the deal?

Is Audigy sharing an IRQ with any other device? Is your Windows up to the latest Service pack? Latest bios?

Sounds random, I know... try creative forums, iirc they have a wealth of info on the issue.
 
It shouldn't be a problem with IRQ's because I didn't have the problem before the format... who knows what the heck the problem is. Could be ANYTHING at this point.
 
download the latest Drivers from Creatives site.

Or replace it...I hated the hiss from my card so I sold mine.
 
I fixed the crackling/popping. It was resulting from the AMD dual core optimized drivers you get from AMD's site.
 
Good that you fixed it. Did you revert to some older drivers or just deleted them altogether?
 
I used to get it when I had my onboard sound enabled. Some driver update fixed it along the way.
