Crack or Scratch?

Its a scratch on the polarizer. Its a layer of plastic film on top of the glass. Sometimes you can get them off with a little bit of auto scratch remover. Just apply a little bit of it to a piece of disposable shop cloth and gently rub the scratch. Then clean the area off. As long as it isn't deep it should come off. If its deep there isn't much you can do about it.

One time, when I was playing with my little helicoper RC, I crashed the toy with the led monitor of my pc

But... I used some liquid for clean panels (monitors/Led´s) and the little scratch dissapear, was magic :D

Reason i'm asking is purchased this tv from fry's, as soon as I set it up I noticed the damage I packed the tv back up and took it back to fry's they refused to return or exchange it because they are saying it is a crack in the screen and they don't return damaged TV's. Sony is telling me they wont warranty it because they were told it was cracked. Looking at it up close there does not appear to be any damage on the outer part of the screen it looks to be more internal

An internal defect is going to be hard to prove. Most people at retail don't know what they are looking at. If it was a crack or something like that the screen wouldn't be working in the area around the crack. So don't worry about that. You are kind of sol when it comes to getting them to take it back . Sony might do it you send them pics. You will have to try to get them to allow you to send the pics.

I sent sony pics they are saying that they are going to forward all my info to there technical specialists and get back to me

That's good. I repair TVs for a living and Sony is one of the hardest to work with. My company is going to stop selling them because they don't even want to provide us with parts anymore. I use to work for sharp refurbishing their 80" and 90" tv's. If the scratch was on the upper surface of the screen then its might be able to get it off the way I described if not then there isn't much you can do with it.

#1 is it still within the 30 day return window?

#2 What about just taking it back and telling them that simply want to return it.. and make up some random reason such as the speakers don't put out high enough quality sound.

#3 Next time make sure to make them open expensive products in front of you before you leave the building so you can inspect them for damage. Not accepting something back where the damage was found upon opening it is just horrible business practice.

Fry's is usually trouble on stuff like this, one time I had a friend buy an open box computer from there and it didn't have ram or processor in it and he had to come within a day or two of suing them to get his money back. I try to buy as little as possible from them.

I've actually had no trouble so far with returns at Frys, Even this year I returned an open box 970 that was making strange noises and crashed my computer when I tried to update the drivers, and I also returned a PB278Q because of excessive backlight bleeding in the bottom right corner, neither time did they accuse me of breaking it, only on the monitor did I have to point out to them what the problem was (they pulled it out and connected it to verify). I actually prefer to go there if I know the thing I want is in stock, since if I have an issue with defective hardware I won't have to deal with RMA.
