CPUz for Linux?

Has anyone found anything that will read the real clock speed of a CPU in Linux? Everything I have tried returns a value in a file that is set to the stock speed of the processor (so all of my I7 920's read as 2.66 GHz.)

The reason I ask is that I had an epiphany this afternoon on some of my performance numbers/anomolies. I have two almost identical I7 systems. They both run at 190 bclk, identical ram settings, identical cooling and power, the same OS, and very similar voltage settings. One of them turns bigadv frames over a minute faster than the other one. It also runs around 10 deg C hotter. I think that the faster, hotter one is actually kicking in turbo, which would mean it is actually running at 3.99 GHz, while the slower, cooler one is not and is running at an actual 3.80 GHz. That would explain what I am seeing, but I would really like to confirm. I think that I am going to need to back the faster one down a little since I have been seeing temperatures in the mid to upper 70's and intermittant instability after I moved it from my bench with a floor fan blowing on it to my server rack with only an Ultra Kaze pumping air to it. I'd probably rather just turn turbo off rather than backing down the bclk to keep the memory running at a faster clip. I would just like to confirm what is going on before I do anything.
 
I probably will end up doing that. I just wanted to confirm what is happening before I do if possible. I have wanted such a utility anyway.
 
Well, I shut off turbo on the faster machine, and sure enough it is back in the ballpark of the slower machine (actually a little slower judging from the first 3 frames.) It is also about 10 deg cooler. I may try to either bump down the voltage a touch or get a couple more MHz on the bclk, since I won't be trying to push over 4Ghz clock speed now. Still, this stupid thing has been running at 4GHz for well over a month on air. Of course the air was coming from a 20" floor fan, but was is still air... :) With that setup, temps were low to mid 70's and it was rock stable.
