Hi All: Just completed my new rig. I'm doing a small o/c to 3.8GHz on my AMD Phenom II X4 970 (3.5GHz @ Stock) CPU (version 1.56) Sometimes when I look @ my CPU-Z it showing 867.8 MHz for my clock speed? What gives? Why not show 3.8GHz?

When I look in my BIOS, it's fine @ 3.8GHz.

thats the cool 'n quiet feature. downclocks the processor to save power and heat at idle. put the processor under full load and it will go up to what ever you have your overclock set to. you can leave it on or turn it off. but if its stable at that clock just leave it on. over the long run it will save you a dollar or two every month.

Sirmonkey: Very cool of you for the insight. Ok...I'll keep in on Cool n' Quiet. As long as she'll run when I need her.

Thanks again!
