Dec 11, 2008 #3 V vertigomhs [H]ard|Gawd Joined Aug 1, 2008 Messages 1,231 its called speedstep, essentially just lowers the multi when the cpu isnt in use, by doing this the cpu keeps cool and saves a little more power. also this wont affect performance when the cpu is in actual use.
