cpu-z q9300 multiplier changes

why does my multi plyer on my 9300 change from 7.5 down to 6 i hard set it to 7.5 and it still goes down to 6 this is on a aus p5q pro mother board.


do i have a bad cpu? or is it a mother board setting?
 
Look for the following options in Bios and disable it.

C1E
SpeedStep
EIST

You're only going to find 2 out of the 3, but disable them all and you will be fine.
 
its called speedstep, essentially just lowers the multi when the cpu isnt in use, by doing this the cpu keeps cool and saves a little more power. also this wont affect performance when the cpu is in actual use.
