Hey guys... just got my E4300 rig together and CPU-Z is reading my CPU wrong. It says that I am running a 6x multi @ 300FSB. The 300FSB is right but the 6x is wrong since I have 9x set in the BIOS. WTF is up?

EDIT: OK this is really starting to PISS me off! I d/l'd speedfan and it is reporting about 37-38c, but I got CoreTemp also and it is reporting 20C. BIOS says 40c and I cannot get Intel TAT to run. I am going to try to reboot and see if that works.

yeh, it says my e6400 has a 6x multi as well. I thought it was my ds3 3.3 though.

I already stated the I had CoreTemp..... and it is reporting way off of everything else.

I get this error in TAT:

Error enumerating On Demand Clock Modulation support.

Terminating Tool.

WTF is that supposed to mean??

Some motherboards wont work with TAT for some reason.

That's normal with Speedstep enabled.

Yeah I think that is what my problem was also... I found the EIST (SpeedStep) setting in my BIOS and now have it disabled. I seem to have a problem with overclocking now tho. I am wondering if it is the MCH voltage that is holding me back. It is set to 1.25v on this motherboard (Abit IB9). I can get the FSB up to 300 no prob to get 2.7Ghz but I was really hoping for 333FSB or better for 3+Ghz. I tried setting my CPU voltage up to 1.5 (that was the max I was comfortable with for now) and the memory was at 2.2 or 2.3 @ 4-4-4-12-2T timings.

This is my setup:

Motherboard: ABIT IB9 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Allendale 1.8GHz 2M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail
Video Card: SAPPHIRE 100176L Radeon X1950PRO 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - Retail
RAM: Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

OK here are some of my BIOS options also:

Execute disable bit (WTF is this?): Enable or Disable

N/B Strap CPU as:

BY CPU
PSB1066
PSB800
PSB533

DRAM SPEC:

By SPD
DDR2 533 (3:4 when above is set to "By CPU")
DDR2 667 (3:5 when above is set to "By CPU")
DDR2 800 (1:2 when above is set to "By CPU")

CPU Voltage: 1.325v to 1.7v in .025v increments
DDR2 Voltage: 1.75v to 2.5v in .05v increments
MCH Voltage: 1.25v - 1.275v the upto 1.45v in .05v increments

I have tried the N/B Strap and DRAM SPEC set at the 800 setting but I get a no boot. Right now I have them on the 533 setting and it is fine. I thought that these were supposed to be set to the same setting as the CPU? When I was overclocking before (300FSB) I had the N/B Strap set to By CPU and the DRAM set to DDR2 800 but anything over 300FSB resulted in a NO POST situation.

Let me know what to try here to hopefully get atleast 333FSB out of this thing!!
