CPU usage

It Is b/c of hyperthreading. The computer is seeing two cpu's.

As for your second question, I don't have the time right now to type that all out, but you can google for it. much has been written about that topic.

Another question I have is how exactly do dual CPU's work together?
basically - the application has to be written to support multithreads - so threads can be executed on both CPUs simultaneously..
