I'm using RightMark Clock Utility to throttle my CPU... When I do this I can see my CPU temperature dropping... My CPU behaves like it's slower... So do I save power by doing this?

Anybody use rightmark clock utility?

I run my computer 24/7 and I want to save some electric bills by leaving the computer on throttling mode when I goto sleep or doing nothing...

When my computer is in idle at full speed my CPU temperature is 42 C... When I'm throttling and idling it goes down to 36 C. But do I save electricity?

what cpu? newer intel chips do this automatically. when it works you will save a little bit on power bills but not much at all.

I've got E6300 @ 3ghz... Obviously I can throttle more speed if my temperature is down by 6 C... Maybe spend less electricity...

With RightMark utility I can throttle to 12.5% of my CPU speed... That would make it behave like a 711mhz CPU if I use SpeedStep as well...

I usually download stuff all night long and I don't need to leave my CPU at 3ghz...

In RightMark utility the option is called "Use Throttling ODCM" and setup it up in your power saving profile...
