CPU Temperature sensor acting strangly.

So yesterday everest claimed that my cpu temperatures were at 38C like they had always been, however, today when i turned on my computer and checked it again, it claims now that it is between 28C and 31C. This is very strange because im running air cooling on my cpu and my ambient case temperatures are not this low, so it is not physically possible for the cpu to be cooler than the case temps.

My question is, what could have possibly caused this to happen and how can i fix it. I dont like overclocking when my sensors are going haywire.

My motherboard and all peripheralls are listed in my sig.

Dont know if the software is reading it correctly but that software there seems to use the DST or something like that i used it seemed to be decent. Dont know though

Ok i got it and its reading upwards of 45C, which is completely different from what my bios and/or everest is telling me.

guess the only real way is to get an actually temp probe down there but that 45 seems more acuate then something thats lower then your case temps lol

that it does but i have a zalman HSF on it, so i wouldnt expect my temps to be that high really...

your running your cpu towards 2.7 ghz right? i would think thats ok maybe a little to high for idle

I've come to the conclusion that I think my PSU is beginning to die. I'm going to try to RMA it next week and see about getting a new one because I'm having all sorts of problems now that I have a 3rd HDD installed. At 2.7Ghz, im getting random crashes and boot errors that i had never gotten before the addition of the 3rd HDD, and i would think 530W would be plenty of power to run 3 HDDs, 7600GT and a slightly overclocked processor.
