My PC: P5E-WS, [email protected], Zalmans 9700NT, eVGA 8800GTS-512MB, Antec P182....

While idle:
In CoreTemp, the CPU core temp are 33, 34, 33, 33C
In PC Probe 2, the CPU temp is 25C and the MB temp is 35C.

There is a 10C difference in the CPU temp as reported by CoreTemp and PC Probe 2, is this right?

coretemp is more accurate as it records the actual temperature coming off each core. pcprobe I guess takes the external temperature

I also noticed from PC-Probe 2 that the chassis fan speed remains almost constant all the time.

When I run Prime95 to full load, I can see that Q-Fan increases the CPU fan from 1288 (idle) to 1700-2000 RPM. The MB fan remains constant at 940 RPM, does this mean that the internal temp of my PC remains nice and cool?

I am already setting Q-Fan to performance profile. Is there any way to speed up the fan a bit to further cool the CPU? More specially, at idle the CPU fan spins at 1280 RPM and the temp are 33,34,33,33. Is there any way I can set the CPU fan speed to 1350 (still silent) to drop the CPU temp?

Anyone can help me with Q-Fan setting?

Maybe I should have bought a 9700LED and controlled the fan speed manually.
