CPU Temp Recording?

are there any programs out there that can record CPU temperature?
i just plugged in a 2.8E into my computer, overclocked it to 3.22 GHz on stock voltage, and noticed it runs very hot... i was playing BF2 for a couple of hours, closed the game, opened up CoreCenter to check temperature, and it read 72 C. im sure it was even hotter while i was playing the game, so i would like to record temps while i play and see how hot ir really does get.
 
please can someone tell me if they know of a program that can record your CPU temps and then let you view the it? im getting temps in the 70's, maybe even 80's and i need to know how hot it really is.
 
You can you omega drivers. They have a hardware monitor that can do CPUs also. Or, you can use MBM 5 for an average temp.
 
Corecenter can do it. Toggle the temps to see the graph output/history - I used the feature on my old MSI Neo2.
 
yeah i just noticed that, but it just shows a graph, you cant really tell what temp's they are.

at what temp does the 2.8E start throttling?

On my neo2 it would indeed keep th emax temps recorded for CPU & mobo/corecell chip. I think the 2.8E starts to throttle at 70c - but am not sure on that (my Northwoods never throttle or go above 55c).

how exactly did it keep them recorded? could you tell what temperature was displayed at certain points in time? mine records a graph, and shows the highest temperature that it hit, but you can't see what the temperatures are on the graph.

actually that was a problem with certain prescotts only... i happen to have the shitty C0 stepping that runs very hot. the newer prescotts and especially the northwoods don't have such heat issues.


surprisingly, after a couple of hours of BF2 today, the temp stayed in the 60's. CoreCenter reported a max temp of 64 C.
