CPU Temp Help

Need some help with a strange situation. I have had high temps on my E6700 C2D since install. So i have access to many chips so I got another one and plugged it in same thing. Both E6700 are running with temps very high. I then threw in my old Presler EE 965 chip rated a 3.73 and monitored the temps its idling at 27C and 43C load. This makes no sence to me the Pressler have always run hotter than C2D. Since the chip swap rules out case cooling and Heat Sync what else could be driving the C2D temps up so High.

No OC on these chips and all voltages set to auto.

idle 46C and 65C load E6700 Original Chip
Idle 45C and 64C load E6700 New Chip
idle 27C and 43C load Presler EE 965 at 3.73

All temps are verified the everest ultimate edition and core temp as well as ASUS PC Probe. I did check BIOS also and they were about the same. BIOS id lates rev a 0805 updated it today. Spec are in my Sig.

Those temps seem high for that cpu. Those temps are what I get with my qx6700 and I have an 8800 qtx that causes most of the heat in my case. I don't know for sure but maybe everest is not optimized for the pressler. Is your pressler chip overclocked to the same speed as the other two chips?. Does your temps drop a lot if you take your side panel off?
