I've decided to swap CPU's between two systems I have. I'd like to take an Athlon XP 2600+ and swap it with my 1700+ that's currently in the A7v266 mobo. Should I have to make any changes in windows or the bios before I do this?

It might be a good idea to clear your BIOS before switching processors just to make sure that there aren't any multipliers that could be detected wrong. Other than that, you should be fine.

Think I should clear the CMOS or just set all the settings to their defaults?
