I downloaded a trial version of sony movie studio 13. I ran the same video from my gopro into movie studio. A 3 minute realtime mp4 video took ~4.35mins to render into a 1080P mp4 file. I ran it 2 times each and still came out the same whether I using the 970gtx or not. Full specs of my rig in the sig.

Looks like h264 encoding acceleration is supported on the Platinum versions and up. I'm seeing this information at the product comparison page. That is sucky of Sony.

Premier Elements? Sorry no dough for family vacation videos. $150 max for me. No way am I going to spend $50/month on premier pro or $600 on Vegas Pro.

open up Task manager and see if it uses all of your CPU threads when it is supposed to be doing the GPU.
