Is it possible to have phase change cool the cpu and water cool the gpu(s), or does it require too much hassle and work?

I dont see why you couldnt.

totally possible, just really expensive and reasonably labour intensive.

case doesn't need to be huge though. lian-li PC 6 series, promethia or vapochill bolt on, laing DDC pump, pair of MCW 55 GPU blocks, single 120mm rad and swiftech radbox, PCI bracket hose pass-through, T-line to fill and bleed and i think you would have it done and ready to go.

or something like my first prototype.
