Does anyone know if there is a site that exists that does benchmarks for cpu limited games and benchmarks them against different cpu's. I'm dying to upgrade my cpu as soon as Haswell comes out. In some cpu limited games, I'm not happy at all with the frame rates I'm getting.

The bad news is your I7 975 Nehalem @4GHz and games running at respectable resolution 1080P and above, is not going to be CPU limited in nearly any current game.

Take Farcry 3, one of the most CPU intensive games I have seen recently, as below the orginal I7's holding there own easily.

There is a tiny handful of exceptions and under certain circumstances such as Borderlands two, maybe you'll get another 5FPS upgrading or overclocking further to 4.5GHz, BUT as your probably already running over 60+FPS anyway its a worthless upgrade for gaming.

Any I7 around 4GHz is not going to need upgrading for several years at least form a gaming perspective.

Hmm, wow, ok. I guess I'll wait and see what Haswell brings to the table, then. Maybe I'll get another 680 in the meantime. :)
