Ok, so I shut down last night, everything is running fine. I boot up this morning, it's taking like forever to boot up. I finally get to the desktop about 15 min later. The system is running like a single core at 3mhz instead of a quad at 3ghz. I mean this thing was a dog. I mean 15 minutes just to get device manager window to pop up.

Long story short and evga tech support, it turns out my CPU internal cache setting was disabled in the bios, on top of Nvidia Nforce PCI system Management being disabled. I got all that straight finally and things were back to normal.

Well, I was running a program and thought it crashed as everything came to a screeching halt. I power down, boot back up, windows was taking forever to boot up. Power back down, back up and went into the bios. CPU Internal cache setting was disabled again.

Ok, so I'm like WTF? I have done a virus scan and all so, any ideas on what can be causing this?

ANY help would be much appreciated.
 
How about upgrade your bios and format you hard drive then install a fresh OS?
 
return the nvidia mb and go p35 or x38? unless you are running sli, no good reason for nvidia chipset at all.
