I usually overclock my system to 4 ghz...but when I play the Quake 4 demo it actually makes my computer shut down...and when I press a button on the keyboard it reboots...I took down the clocking to my default 3.6 speed and it still does the same damn thing...my CPU doesn't even overheat...what in the flying F**K is going on?

If quake 4 is the only game that does this to you then your cpu is probably fine. Try running the fear demo and if you can run that you should be okay. Could just be a buggy demo. Hell the retail game randomly crashes on some people. Not sure if it still happens since the 1.0.4 patch.

so, the system is stable for most things that you do, but not for the quake 4 demo.

have you run prime95 torture test?

if your system is prime stable, but that particular demo won't run, then it's almost certainly the demo. if you're not prime stable, then you ARE giong to end up with more random crashes and be unable to run some software properly.
