cpu idel @ 54-55

I just build my new rig with the QX6700 quad core, i have the Thermaltake Armor Series VA8003BWS 1X 120 mm fan front, 1X 120 mm fan and 90mm fan rear. I use the intel stock fan and heat sink.
My mobo EVGA 680i SLI

Question is, why my cpu is idling at 54c in the bios system monitor. I haven't install windows yet. This this temp normal, and no overclocking yet.

make sure the heat stink is completely clamped down on all 4 corners. seems like a brain dead thing to not do, but it doen't hurt to double check.

Those temperatures are quite decent for a quad core with stock heatsink. Also, the cpu isn't usually at idle in the bios, and definitely isn't benefitting from c1e and other power saving mechanisms. Absolutely nothing to worry about. What temps do you see while under load in windows with coretemp? 60's or even 70's aren't out of the norm for quad cores on stock heatsink, especially with summer now

I just check, it is clamp down, can't push it any more. The Fan+Heat sink fill firmly tight.
I guess is normal for 53 or 54 idle.
My other system CPU is P4 3.2ghz HT runs at 42c with stock cooling
