I have a 9600BE. And a ASUS M2N-MX SE Plus AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 motherboard.

My problem is the cpu keeps going to 1050Mhz even when I have c&q turn off. Speed fan reports core around 45c. It never goes above 48c. Stock HSF. Latest BOIS. Nvidia sys monitor reports the same temps. Right now I have under clocked it to 1700Mhz and it only drops to 1050Mhz once in a wile. When it was at full speed it drop clock 90% of the time. If FAH was running.

Is there a way to fix this so it can run at full speed 2300Mhz with out it switching back and forth.

I would like my SMP FAH to work bettter.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes I did the only options I had for throttling where c&q and to the fan speed monitor. I turn off the fan speed monitor, and c&q.

I turn off for 5 min turn on start FAH SMP and still it throttles 30 sec after it start useing all 4 cores. I checked every page of the BIOS.

Thanks for the tip

So much for the obvious. It does have a "over hat" klike sound to this problems so I presume all you prior efforts were ai,ed at this idea. Other than what you've listed, I can't think of anything that may be sticking it's fingers into your productivity.

Doe sopen case/extra fans near the CPU help?

Does this only happen with folding? have you tried som fo the stress test apps people favor? Somthing to try and isolate what part of the PC is responsible? It seems fairly obvious the CPU is the issue, but what if the nothbridge chip was overheating.

and I'm spent....

Well I tried a big box fan it dose the same thing. Any time all 4 cores are max it dose this. it is funny seeing the CPU going to a lower speed when it is only reporting 38c. the chipset temp and all where lower too. I am thinking that I just need a different MB only reason I am using this one was that it was free with the CPU. http://www.hardforum.com/images/smilies/smile.gif So for now until I get the money I just run at 1700Mhz at least it is still 4 cores. at lease it is still 560ppd. Thanks for the help.
