Hi all

I'm a newbie here and am just after opinions. I'm buying a budget gaming PC and I have the following choices:

Ryzen 7 with RX580 card.
Core i5 with 1660ti card

What would you go for?

I'm sort of into older games like Combat Mission, but might want to try Battlefield etc.

Many thanks

For a budget gaming PC, try a Ryzen 5 3600 and an MSI B450 MAX board for easy compatibility? No real need for the Ryzen 7 if you're on a budget.

Make sure you get 3200 MHZ RAM or above. The cheapest will do.

3600 + 1660TI?

what he said

What you save on from the Ryzen 7 you could put towards a RX5700.

I have all the said items 3600 /3700x and RX 580 / RX 5700

I have only got to try my 3700x out with my RX 570 8Gb and you tell me as it's not overclocked and eating almost 6Gb memory in DMC 5 in 1080p Ultra .. The pre render scenes pull my RX 5700 also as it's almost a benchmark lol .
