I installed a Zalman CNPS 7000B-Cu on my Athlon 64 3500+ (replaced a Thermaltake Silentboost). It is mounted on an Asus A8V (ver 2). Upon booting after the post I get an "CPU fan error! Press F1 to resume" message.

After pressing F1 it boots fine and CPu temp is around 34 celcius in silent mode.

Any idea what that error message might be about?

Go into the Bios and disable the fan monitor control, I had the samething on my A8V, Its because your fan RPM speed is to low, I went ahead and bought a higher RPM fan myself. But if your temps are cool I would say there is no need to. Just disable the warning.
 
I would disable it all together and run the CPU fan off the power supply. I think when you run a lot of fans off the motherboard, it will hold you back from your MAX overclock. Not sure how true this is but makes sense, that is unless you want to monitor the RPM of your cpu fan.
